You
will find classic favorites such as dahlias, irises, and phlox, as
well as plants like Aruncus ‘Southern White’ that are so new
their names haven’t been finalized yet.
Armitage has compiled a series of lists of “Selected
Plants for Specific Characteristics or Purposes.” The lists will
help you find the best choices for cut flowers, drought tolerance,
flower colours, fragrance, ground covers, foliage or fruits,
flowering season, winter interest, vines, and wet or boggy places.

The
Best Book I've seen on Succulents. The 350 colour photographs are
excellent with good information on each variety. The Photographs
were taken mainly in New Zealand but also in California and Japan.
For us this book is about Succulents for the home and summer
garden. From Timber Press by Yvonne Cave |

spacing, planting, & care |

The
Illustrations in this book are better than many photographs I have
seen of the same plant. As I paged my way through this book I was
lost myself in the illustrations. This Book covers more than 1800
cultivars. From Timber Press by David More and John White. |

Reading
this book was like reliving my trips to Tahiti, Fiji, New Zealand,
and Australia. It was splendid and so is the book. The lists in
the back of the book are invaluable for selecting the right plant
for the right effect. Plants covered are for USDA Zones 7 to 11. From
Timber Press by Michael A. Dirr. |
